League: MO Sr Babe Ruth League

Jake Dorris

Cardinals Legacy Foundation for Baseball (CLF4B) is proud to announce that former Lumberjack/Perfectos player, Jake Dorris, has been tapped to be assistant coach for the Perfectos this summer. Dorris will travel with the Sr Babe Ruth and 18U Showcase teams and has also agreed to help with the Jr Babe team when schedules do not conflict.

The Perfectos team will play 26 Sr Babe games in June and July plus travel to four tournaments at universities (Illinois State & Illinois Wesleyan Universities, St Louis University, University of Arkansas-Little Rock and SIU-Edwardsville). Barring rainouts, the team will play a minimum of 42 games in 8 weeks.

Dorris, who has been on two Sr Babe Ruth state championship teams and played in the Sr Babe Ruth World Series in 2016, is currently a sophomore at Lindenwood University-Belleville studying sports management. He will be transferring to SEMO to continue his degree in the fall of 2018.

2018 Sr Babe Ruth League

One of the most competitive leagues in the country, the Missouri Sr Babe Ruth League’s Champion has gone to the World Series each of the last two years. Last year, the Charleston Fighting Squirrels took third after being knocked out in the semi-final round against Cape Cod, Massachusetts in a 1-0 game.

In 2018, the state tournament will be held in Charleston (July 10-14); the Midwest Plains Regionals is in Bismark, North Dakota (July 19-21); and the World Series is being held in Jamestown, New York (Aug 3-12).
